FIREFIGHTERS tonight warned of the dangers of freezing conditions after a crash on the Titley road, north of Kington.

They expressed surprise that even a four-wheel-drive Land Rover Discovery came to grief, overturning on the ice.

They described it as a minor crash.

A car also crashed on Dinmore Hill at 2.30pm - there were no injuries.

Meanwhile, the Met Office warned that temperatures were plunging into minus double digits in many areas of the country.

It said similar cold conditions will continue into tomorrow (Wednesday) with isolated snow showers and sunny spells.

Snow showers are likely to be heavy at times, particularly in the afternoon.
