A MAN from Yate has pleaded guilty to drink driving charges.

Daniel James, 34, of Milton Road, was found to be driving whilst over the legal alcohol limit on Oldland Common High Street on February 2.

The case was heard at Bristol Magistrates' Court on February 27, where the defendant was ordered to pay a fine of £120, plus a victim services surcharge of £30 and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

He was also disqualified from driving for 20 months, which will reduced by 20 weeks on completion of a drink-drive rehabilitation course.

A WINTERBOURNE man faces charges of failing to comply with supervision requirements following his release from prison.

Bobby McCarthy, 28, of Northwood Park, is charged with failing, without reasonable excuse, to comply with his post sentence supervision conditions. These include being of good behaviour, keeping in touch with his supervisor and attending planned probation appointments.

The case was heard at Bristol Magistrates' Court on February 27 with a warrant issued for the defendant's arrest for community penalty breach, without bail.

A MAN from Pucklechurch has been charged with failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

Robin Tippett, 22, of Eagle Crescent also faces charges of driving without due care and attention, and failing to report an accident.

The incident, which allegedly resulted in personal injury to a cyclist and damage to their bike, happened on Cossham Street, Mangotsfield, on September 22.

A warrant for arrest without bail was issued for the defendant, as he has not appeared to answer summons.

A MAN from Yate has been charged with mistreating a child.

Stuart May, 29, of Westerleigh Road, Yate, has pleaded not guilty to charges of wilfully assaulting, ill-treating, neglecting, abandoning or exposing a child, for whom he has responsibility, in a manner likely to cause unnecessary suffering or injury to health.

The case was adjourned at a hearing at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on February 26 and will resume there on March 2.

A BRADLEY Stoke man has pleaded guilty to assaulting two people at a hospital in Bristol.

Brett Maloney, 48, of Orchard Gate, appeared before Bristol Magistrates’ Court on Monday, February 26, charged with two counts of assault by beating.

He was handed a one year community order and told to pay £150 compensation to each victim as well as an £85 surcharge and £85 court fees.

A MAN from Filton has been ordered to pay £500 compensation and handed a restraining order after causing criminal damage to a pair of doors.

Alexander Bakehouse, 23, of Rectory Lane in Filton, pleaded guilty to damaging the two doors on January 2013y at an address in Patchway.

Bakehouse was handed the order, restricting him from making contact with Ms Booy or going to her home, as well the fine and a community order.

He was also ordered to pay and £85 victim surcharge and £85 in court charges.

A SOUTH Gloucestershire man has admitted to assaulting a woman and destroying her phone at Cribbs Causeway.

James Buckley, 29, of Tetbury Close, Little Stoke, has pleaded guilty to assaulting Verity Buckley by beating her, and destroying her iPhone, at McDonald's in Cribbs Causeway on January 11.

He also pleaded guilty to causing damage her car.

Buckley was made the subject of a community order, and is now required to participate in an accredited programme - Building Better Relationships - for 42 days.

He was also handed a restraining order banning him from going to Buckleys Road in Bristol, nor to the McDonalds restaurant where the incident occurred, and to make no contact with his victim, either directly or indirectly, with the exception of child contact or court proceedings.

He was also ordered to pay compensation of £800 and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
