THE family of Jordan Maxwell, who died following a single vehicle collision on the A38 on Sunday 22 April, has paid tribute to him.
Jordan, 21 and from Gloucester, suffered fatal injuries after the Mazda 6 he was travelling in was involved in a collision at about 2.23am.
His grandparents in South Africa have said: "It is with great sadness that the Maxwell family announce the tragic death in a car accident of their beloved Jordan.
"We as a family have been completely overwhelmed by the response of so many of his friends. We all loved this gentle 'boy' deeply and are comforted by the fact that we are far, far from alone.
"The family wish to thank everybody for their extraordinary kindness and support at this traumatic time for all of us.
"We ask the press to respect the privacy of us all and leave us to grieve in peace at this shocking loss of such a young special life in such terrible circumstances."
A 17-year-old boy who was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving was released under investigation while enquiries continue.
A blue Audi A3 which was located near to the incident has now been ruled out of the investigation and a 20-year-old man from Bristol who was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving will face no further action.
