FIREFIGHTERS raced to a home in Yate yesterday afternoon after a fire broke out in a garage.
Two crews from Yate Fire Station were dispatched to Blakeney Mills at 4.08pm, and on arrival came across a severe fire in the garage of a three-storey town house.
Four firefighters in breathing apparatus put out the flames using two high pressure hose reels and scanned the area with a thermal imaging camera to check it had not spread.
Damage from the flames had spread to the first floor of the property, but fortunately no one was hurt in the incident.
An Avon Fire and Rescue spokesman said that it was concluded the fire had started accidentally.
