AN INDEPENDENT travel agent that revels in ‘no two days being the same’ are celebrating moving their head office to Thornbury.

C The World, which was originally set up in a garden shed in Easter Compton, back in 2010, before opening its first office in the village, has helped hundreds of people over the years to find the right holiday for them.

The move to Thornbury comes after the company outgrew its current head office, with founder and director Carolyn Park saying she has ‘always fancied Thornbury’, liking the independent nature of many of the businesses there.

The business has two other branches in Westbury Park, Bristol, and The Corridor in Bath, which opened within the space of a year between 2015 and 2016, boasting a team of 13, including front line sales consultants, concierges and marketing staff, offering around 300 years of travel experience.

Having opened its doors last week to customers at its new premises on the High Street, Carolyn said that the first few days ‘have gone really well’.

“We have already had some well-wishers that have used us when we were in Easter Compton come over to welcome us to the town and lots of new faces. Everyone has been really friendly and we already feel settled in.

“Thornbury is a really nice market town and having spent a lot of time building up the business in a small village, we now feel we are ready to be part of the independent culture here.

“We are of course independent which gives us the opportunity to get the right holiday for our clients. We don’t have planes or hotels to fill so there is much more we can do for them on the High Street.”

Talking about her love for the industry, Carolyn said: “No two days are ever the same, it’s the beauty of what we do.

“Today we have dealt with Cyprus, New Zealand, cruising, river cruising, a city break to London. The variety of what we do means you cannot get bored in travel.

“The whole ethos is finding the right trip for the right person. It is something you spend a lot of money on, so we want to give expert advice, and in this office alone is more than 100 years of experience.

“There is a great phrase in this office – ‘talk to a human’ – a website doesn’t know what you like or your preferences. By getting to know our clients, with some having booked us for years, we know if they want the window seat on the plane, we know if there is a birthday or a big anniversary and take care of it for them.

“For us, there’s nothing better than someone coming back and saying what a fab time they have had.”
