A country music festival is returning to a Pilning pub this bank holiday.

The Plough Inn is hosting the five-day festival from Thursday, August 23 to Monday, August 27.

Nancy Vowles from Thornbury Country Music Club has helped organise the event.

"We have many artists and people attending from all over the country, some have just been nominated acts for awards by the UK country radio and the Cross Country Magazine.

"It's a good event for people who like to just sit and listen or even to get up to dance," she said.

Geoff Hilton will begin the festival and there will be a range or performances across the weekend until Colt Murphy and Barefoot & Crazy close the show on the Monday afternoon.

Residents artists Micky Page and Martyn's Disco will also be playing.

The festival is being held in the marquee next to the pub with the Plough providing food and drink.

Camping tickets are sold out but there are still £5 tickets available for afternoon and evening sessions.
