A barn was set ablaze in Ingst yesterday (Sunday, September 23).

Crews from Thornbury, Temple and Avonmouth attended the fire on Ingst Hill at 17.18pm.

They used portable and main pumps to supply 45mm jets to tackle the fire which involved 100 tonnes of hay.

The fire caused the roof to collapse in to the 10x20m barn but was prevented from spreading to nearby buildings.

Although the fire is now under control, one crew remains on site to monitor the situation.
