Members of a Thornbury theatre group swapped the stage for the catwalk last week.

Thornbury Musical Theatre Group held a fashion show at the M&Co store in the St Mary Centre.

11 women and three men  were models for the evening, displaying M&Co’s latest outfits.

Sue Smith, member of the publicity team for Thornbury Musical Theatre Group, said: “The fashion show went very well and we all had such fun on the catwalk.

“We certainly needed all the models we had to make the evening run smoothly as there were a lot of quick changes, five outfits each in all.

“M&Co staff were on hand assisting wherever necessary and keeping the evening flowing smoothly.

“It was a full house and there was a lot of interest in the clothing.

“Several ladies stayed behind to browse the rails and make purchases.

“Many remarked on how nice it was to see the clothes come alive on the catwalk with real people.”

After taking out expenses, the total amount raised was £274.14. The funds will go towards Thornbury Musical Theatre Group and will assist them in putting on shows in the future.

This year is the group’s 50th anniversary year and they are putting on a performance of Into The Woods.

The fairytale musical will feature well known characters such as Red Riding Hood, Cinderella and Rapunzel and is inspired by a number of Brothers Grimm stories.

It will run from October 24-27 at the Armstrong Hall.

Performances are at 7.30pm nightly with a matinee on the Saturday at 2.30 pm.

Tickets from £10.50 are on sale online at tmtg.org.uk or by calling the box office on 07516 270140.

They are also available from Lisa Costa Residential Sales and Lettings, High Street, Thornbury.

M&Co are hosting a number of other fashion shows to support other causes.

On Thursday, October 4 at 6:30pm a fashion show will be held in aid of Brain Tumour Support and on Thursday, October 11 at 7.30pm a show will be held to raise money for Thornbury in Bloom.
