FIREFIGHTERS were called to a house fire in Yate in the early hours of this morning.
The crew from Yate fire station arrived at 2.08am, with two fire engines.
The fire was in the living room on the ground floor of a semi-detached house.
The team stopped the fire spreading using high pressure jets and thermal imaging cameras to check for hot spots.
Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued two of the owners' pets - a cat and a bearded dragon reptile - and it is understood a second cat ran away.
The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
