A SCIENCE teacher accused of having sex with a pupil on a plane will not face a retrial, the Crown Prosecution Service has said.

Ellie Wilson, 29, of Dursley was accused of luring the schoolboy, 16, into the cubicle on a school trip and later telling him she was pregnant with his child.

She denied the charges - and a jury of six men and six women could not agree on a verdict on October 10.

The CPS was given seven days to decide if it was going to proceed with a retrial but today (Wednesday) confirmed no retrial will take place.

A CPS spokesperson said: "The CPS has decided not to seek a retrial in this case. This decision follows careful consideration including speaking with the complainant."

The trial at Bristol Crown Court heard Ms Wilson and the boy had sex on the flight back from a school trip to Africa, which she denied.

Ms Wilson, of Dursley always denied there was any sexual contact.

She denied four charges of sexual activity with a child by a person in a position of trust between August and September 2015.

Ms Wilson was a respected teacher and head of Key Stage Four at a secondary school in Bristol which cannot be named for legal reasons.

She no longer works at the school and has been struck off on recommendation from the National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL).
