A road has been closed for re-surfacing in Yate, three months on from their original works date.

Sundridge Park is currently closed as work takes place between today, October 29, and next Tuesday, November 6.

The work started at around 8.00am with service vehicles arriving on the road at around 7.15am on Monday.

A complete re-surfacing of the road is due to take place between the hours of 8.00am and 5.00pm, with access being limited.

Sundridge Park has three schools on it, Yate Academy, St Paul's and Woodland's Primary. All of which are on half term this week.

There were concerns regarding how the works would run into the school term, however the council revealed that hours of re-surfacing would be altered to 9.00am - 3.00pm.

The work has meant that some roads towards Yate Shopping Centre, Gleneagles, Stanshawes Crescent and Wentworth have restricted access.
