Avon and Somerset Police have announced that they are 'still looking in to' a horror crash in Yate at the weekend.

On Saturday just before 4.00pm a black Renault Clio, travelling from the Bristol direction along Goose Green Way, had a head-on collision with a silver Honda CR-V.

The incident which took place right next to the Fox Pub and Yate Trading Estate left the Clio on its roof.

The road was then swiftly closed in both directions with diversions to Station Road and the Trading Estate set-up quickly.

All three emergency services attended the incident, with crews from Avon Fire and Rescue Service, South Western Ambulance Service and Avon and Somerset Police all dealing with the crash.

A number of people were treated by ambulance at the scene, whilst one casualty was taken to hopsital for injuries.

The emergency services, along with Victoria Recovery, all worked hard to deal with the incident before re-opening the road in both directions by 5.30pm.

A statement from the police though has revealed that they are still looking in to what caused the incident, appealing for information from anyone who may have seen the crash.

A spokewoman said: "Police enquiries continue.
