THIS is the stunning poppy tribute created by the Wotton community to mark the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day.
Over 7,000 handmade poppies, attached to lengths of cricket netting, were draped down the side of St Mary’s Church tower yesterday.
The installation commemorates the lives of the 114 Wotton men who didn't return from the First World War.
Draping the poppies from the tower was quite an operation, and benefice secretary Kate Cropper is full of praise for the team - Skyline Access Scaffolding, Wotton fire crew and Tim Plant - who made it happen.
