DURSLEY children are being offered the chance to borrow a wide range of toys and games from the town's toy library.

The service, which runs on Thursday mornings from 10am to 11.30am during term time in the Chantry Centre, has developed a way for families with young children to enjoy play time without the expensive price tag of buying toys and games.

The library stocks over 500 toys for children aged from birth to five years, although children with additional needs can continue to use the service whilst it remains relevant to them.

It is open to parents and grandparents, as well as childminders, toddler groups and reception classes.

There is a variety of membership options, depending on circumstances. Borrowers can pay an annual membership fee of £24, or can pay per toy, which will cost between £1 and £2 per week.

The library is run by volunteers, led by a coordinator, and they are always looking for more helpers.
