A MAN has died after falling in Dursley.

Emergency services were called to treat the 65-year-old, who was unconscious, in Long Street on Friday evening.

He was taken to Southmead Hospital, Bristol, where he received treatment for a head injury, which was described as 'life threatening'.

It is understood that it had been raining and that the man slipped on steps outside the Bell pub.

Today a police spokesperson said: "We are able to confirm that the 65-year-old man sadly died on Monday and our thoughts are with his family at this time."

"Detectives have reviewed this and believe it was a tragic accident rather than a criminal incident.
