STAFF and pupils at a Cam primary are celebrating after being rated yet again as ‘good’ by Ofsted.

Cam Woodfield Infant School received the second highest grade in its latest report from the education watchdog.

Following a visit in September, the school was praised for maintaining a good quality of education throughout the last 16 years.

Headteacher Helen Harper said she was delighted with the news.

“Cam Woodfield Infant School has remained consistently good for the last 16 years and we are really proud of our achievements,” she said.

“We are pleased that the inspector recognised the shared commitment by staff and leaders, which has ensured that our school is a purposeful and positive experience for our children.

“The report also highlighted that we focus on high achievement and improving the outcomes for all children.”

In the report, Ofsted inspector Wendy Marriott noted that the school’s pupils have good attitudes to learning and enjoy being at school.

She commented that “pupils enjoy school and behave well.

“They learn in bright, well-resourced classrooms where their work is proudly displayed.”

She also mentioned the welcoming nature of the school staff and was positive about the nurturing environment provided for the children.

The school’s latest Key Stage One data has been especially good, with the school exceeded the provisional national standards in all areas.

“We would like to thank everyone for their continued focus on attendance which, alongside the good teaching and the hard work of the children, has helped to secure the higher standards achieved this year,” said Ms Harper.
