The farming community of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire will gather this week to discuss the state of the industry.

The Three Counties Farming Conference, in association with Knight Frank, is on Thursday, November 15, at the Three Counties Showground, Malvern.

It will be split into afternoon workshops and an evening debate chaired by farmer and BBC Countryfile presenter Adam Henson, who is ambassador of the Royal Three Counties Show.

He will be chairing the evening debate which this year will be focused on Post-Brexit Opportunities: Planning Ahead for the Future of Food and Farming, along with an experienced panel of speakers including David Drew MP, Shadow Minister for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs; Minette Batters, newly elected president of the National Farmers Union, and Neil Parish MP, chairman of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (EFRA) Select Committee.

Mr Henson will also announce details of the forthcoming Three County Farmer Awards, which are backed by this newspaper.

The awards, being held in partnership with the Royal Three Counties Show, will be a celebration of all that is good about the industry.

A gala evening next year will be a prestigious black-tie event and will celebrate the best of the best in 12 categories.

There will be a guest speaker, and those attending will be served with a fine locally sourced three-course dinner.

The awards will be promoted by Newsquest Media, which publishes this and other several weekly newspapers and websites in Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire, and has a formidable reach among local audiences.

All the shortlisted finalists and eventual winners will be celebrated in special supplements in print and in coverage online and on social media.

It truly promises to be the night of the year for the local farming industry!

More than 25 agricultural trade stands will feature at this week's conference. They will offer advice, support and opportunities for farm businesses, and information for students wanting to pursue a career in agriculture.

Ticket prices are £20 in advance and £22 on the day, or for students, £10 in advance or £11 on the day. This includes admission to both the afternoon and evening conferences and the networking buffet, taking place between 5pm and 6.30pm.
