Trevor Hall has been announced as the new Stroud District councillor for Dursley.
Yesterday, Thursday 15, voters turned out to vote for their choice after Alison Hayward resigned.
Labour party candidate Trevor Hall is understood to have won the election with just over 50 per cent of the votes.
A statement released by the Cam, Dursley and Berkeley Labour Party on his behalf said:
“I’d like to thank the people of Dursley for putting their trust in me.
"I look forward to working with Doina Cornell and Colin to represent you all to the best of my ability”
Four candidates had put themselves forward to serve the Dursley community at district level:
- Yvonne Dignon (Green Party), who received 90 votes
- Richard Blackwell-Whitehead (Lib Dems), who received 79 votes
- Trevor Hall (Labour), who was elected with 889 votes
- and Loraine Patrick (Conservatives), who received 704 votes.
