Downing Street confirm that Hastings MP Amber Rudd, who resigned as home secretary in April, will be returning to the Cabinet as the Work and Pensions Secretary.
She will replace Esther McVey who stood down from the position yesterday.
She resigned as Home Secretary in April, saying she had "inadvertently misled" MPs over the Windrush scandal.
