A man has been rescued after falling six feet onto a printing press.
Ambulance and fire crews were called to an industrial unit, in Featherby Way, Rochford, after the man fell onto the machinery, this morning at about 7.50am.
The fire service sent two crews, one from Rayleigh and one from Southend, as well as the Urban Search and Rescue team.
When crews arrived they reported that the man had fallen around 6ft from a mezzanine floor onto the printing press.
A spokesman for the Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said: "We believe the man had been there for around 45 minutes before we was discovered by a colleague who called 999.
"Our firefighters worked in collaboration with the Ambulance Service to keep the man as comfortable as possible and did a brilliant job of moving him quickly and safely.
"Crews used strops and straps to lift the man from the machine and then used boards to safely secure him and move him to a safe place for the Ambulance Service to assist him."
The casualty was left in the care of the Ambulance Service at 8.45am.
