THERE will be fun for all the family at the Cam Christmas lights switch-on event this year.

Entertainment on offer will include a Santa's grotto, fairground rides, children’s book character appearances, and delicious food and drink.

The event will take place around Cam High Street from 2.30pm to 4.30pm on Saturday, November 24.

Children’s book characters Paddington, Winnie the Pooh and Peter Rabbit will make a guest appearance for the event.

Shops all down the High Street will be open and offering special activities for the event.

The memorial hall will have a Christmas fair and the Santa's grotto will be in the methodist hall.

There will also be pottery painting, pony rides and face painting, plus a raffle.

The Christmas Lights will be switched on at 4.30pm, outside the Berkeley Arms.

Cam High Street will be closed to all traffic on the day between 2pm and 5pm, from outside A1 Appliances to China Chef.

There will be access to Tesco, Chapel Street and Fairmead from Cam Pitch. Drivers are advised to use Manor Avenue as a diversion.
