A STROUD barber has raised over a thousand pounds to help a seriously ill little boy, with the help of some popular DJs and some generous businesses in the town.

On Saturday, Nick Proctor from South West Chop Shop (SWCS) was joined by Neil ‘Dubbu’ Wilson and Darren ‘Tunes’ Norris to help raise money for a four year old boy who has recently been diagnosed with Leukaemia.

Watch this video of barber Nick Proctir explaining why he had to help Franck and his family:

Franck and his sister Ruby, and mum and dad Anna and Paul, have found themselves struggling financially since the little boy's diagnosis just weeks ago, and an appeal has been set up to help the family while the four year old receives treatment.

"Friday, October 5, was the worst day of our lives, the day our beautiful boy Franck L’Amour got diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia - our world came crashing down on us in a split second," the Brighton family said in a statement.

"We were told that his whole treatment is going to last more than three years.

"The strain this is going to have on our family will be immense emotionally and financially."

Businesses from all over the country joined forces to raise money for Franck L’Amour, as part of a national fundraising drive.

Whilst Nick cut hair for donations to the cause on Saturday, Stroud's top DJs spun some tunes, and many businesses in Stroud donated prizes for a raffle too.

Incredibly, SWCS and their generous friends were able to raise £1,100 over the course of the day on Saturday.

Nick said that he felt motivated to help raise money for Franck after hearing about the family's situation.

Here's the vibes that played out in south West Chop Shop on Saturday:

"When things like this happen friends dig deep and support their loved ones," Nick, who owns SWCS said.

"We rounded up everyone we know and have had the privilege to work with for a one day international FUNraiser for the family and The Grand Appeal for the Bristol children’s hospital."

Money raised will benefit Franck and his family, as well as many others through donations to the children's hospital and Clic Sargent. To learn more visit gofundme.com/francks-fight
