Money has recently become a big talking point in football, but how much do the top performing English stars earn in comparison to you?

A recent survey suggested that some of the teams stars, including captain Harry Kane earn close to £10 million each year.

That is more than 350 times the average full time worker in South Gloucestershire.

Using figures from the Office for National Statistics, the average earnings in the district are £28,500 per annum.

This compares to the £4.5 million earned by the semi-finalists in the 2018 World Cup in the summer.

Another horrifying statistic shows that Manchester United defender Ashley Young's house is valued at just over £12 million, that is 40 times more than the average house in the UK.

Other neighbouring districts also compare badly, with Stroud being on an average of £27,500, the Cotswolds being the lowest figure with £25,500 and Wiltshire scoring £25,600 per year.
