DURSLEY Male Voice Choir's Christmas concerts are already completely sold out, but for those who missed out, there is a waiting list.

The shows are due to be staged on December 14 and 15, at the Chantry Centre, in Long Street, Dursley.

Choir chairman Bryan Jones said: “As happened last year, once again the people of Gloucestershire have been incredibly supportive, snapping up all of the tickets for our concerts.”

“It’s up to us now to put on a performance to lift the spirits and justify the support local people give us.”

“There is absolutely no doubt that for many folk the festive season really starts with the Dursley Male Voice Choir Christmas concerts.

"Lots of people attend our shows year after year and they tell us that the concerts have now become an integral and traditional part of their Christmas celebrations.

"It is really gratifying to have such enthusiastic and dedicated support.”

Maintaining its tradition of supporting young, up-and-coming local talent, the choir will be joined this year by soloist Esmee Cook from Thornbury.

Esmee, (pictured here), is an emerging star of popular theatre and musicals, and has recently graduated with a masters degree in philosophy and politics from Edinburgh University.

She is presently a full-time acting student at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. From the age of 13 she has performed in musicals with Bristol-based Ivy Arts theatre group and Musical Youth-UK.

She has also starred in a range of musicals in Edinburgh.
