The Vintage Birdcage cakery and cafe in Yate have had a busy couple of weeks.

Firstly, by putting on a festive market that proved to be a huge success and now preparing for a special visitor.

The popular cafe has revealed that they are holding opportunities for youngsters to meet Santa.

There will be a number of sessions that parents can book their children on to.

An event created on Facebook revealed that: “Father Christmas will be in our snug with stories and treats for all.

“Each child will receive a magical present from Santa as well as milk and homemade cookies.”

Santa will take the time out of his busy schedule to be at the cafe on Thursday, December 6 at 17.30pm and 18.15pm and then the same times the following day on Friday, December 7.

There are then sessions at the same times on Thursday and Friday December 13/14.

These are followed by one final couple of sessions just before Christmas on Thursday, December 20.

Tickets for the event can be purchased by calling the Vintage Birdcage on 01454 550088 on any day between Monday-Friday at 10.00am until 15.00pm.

These sessions will be running as the cafe continue to look forward to the Christmas season.

On November 24 there was a special Festive Market where numerous businesses from the community set up stalls.

Amongst these stalls were also some coffee and food stands where Yorkshire Pudding Wraps were on sale.

It was the third year that the venue has held the event and it was a huge success with well over 600 people attending throughout the course of the day.

Owner of the Vintage Birdcage, Nicole Jones, revealed that she feels it is important to promote other business in things like the market.

"It is a really good opportunity for other businesses to come and show what they sell," she said.

"That is the most important thing, it's all about helping others in the community."
