Staff at a Thornbury preschool held a surprise party to honour a long-serving member of staff.
The party was thrown for Jenny Harris, leader of the school’s Christ the King site.
Jenny has been recognised for 25 years continued service at the preschool.
Past and present staff and committee members all attended the event to celebrate Jenny’s time at the school.
The party was held at the new Crossways building, on the grounds of Crossways Infant School, which was finally finished earlier this year following problems with funding.
Despite being a registered charity, the preschool learnt they would not be tax exempt, meaning the project costed more than expected.
South Gloucestershire Council took ownership of the building and funded the shortfall.
Cllr David Chubb recently gave £650 of his Member Assisted Funding to the school for a new climbing frame.
