A community has rallied once more in memory of a baby in Winterbourne who died in 2011.

Theo Cameron passed away, aged just nine months old, due to rare genetic condition with the charity Jessie May supporting parents Scott Cameron and Sarah Harttrup.

Ever since there has been big events in Winterbourne to try and raise money for the charity, these fundraisers have always been supported by lots of people.

Every year the couple, with the help of their children Ollie and Phoebe, run fundraising events, this time it was a 20k stomp from the Downs in Bristol to the Cross Hands in Winterbourne.

Around 40 adults participated in the event with around 25 children joining them for a part of the walk thanks to organisation from Ollie.

Since the start of fundraising, Scott and Sarah have raised well over £40,000 for Jessie May.

“For those that were not lucky enough to know Theo, he was an amazing strong little boy who gave us so much in the 9 months he was with us,” Sarah said.

“With the help and support of Jessie May nurses we were able to take Theo home to be with his twin brother.

“This gave us the opportunity to make wonderful memories as a family, which will forever be in our hearts.

“Theo being home was so important to us and we will be forever indebted to the Jessie may nurses for their support they have, and continue to give us as a family.”

"The most important thing is that Theo's memory is kept alive and I think that it is mine and Scott's job.

"It is nice way to preserve and share the memories we have of Theo.

The stomp from the Downs was a very successful event with those involved raising over £2000.

"It was good to raise that amount and get above the £40,000 mark so thanks to everyone involved," Sarah continued.

"I tell Ollie and Phoebe that they should be really proud of what they have done for Jessie May. Part of our grieving process was to raise money for an unbelievable charity and we want to hit £50,000 in the next couple of years."

Julian Withers, Head of Fundraising and Communications at Jessie May, said: “Theo’s Stomp is now in its fourth year and has raised an incredible £16,000 for Jessie May. We are truly grateful to all these fantastic  ‘stompers’ who walk to support the vital work of Jessie May Nurses every year.

“Theo’s amazing family and friends rally around each year and so far an astounding £38,513.08 has been raised in his name in total through fundraising events and activities! We are continuously in awe of the money being raised through Theo’s Jessie May Memory Fund; all of which means our nurses can continue to support families caring for a terminally ill child.”
