A group of thieves are travelling into the Cotswold district to commit crimes using stolen cars and stolen number plates.

Police are now appealing for the public's help to help them find the cars and track down the occupants.

The issue was first highlighted on December 6, when police issued a community alert detailing a recent rise in acquisitive crime where stolen cars on stolen number plates were used.

Officers arrested one member of the group, but they now believe they are using a new car and they have released the details in the hope that someone might spot it.

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire police said: "Please let us know if you see, and are suspicious of, a sky blue coloured Citroen C3.

"We believe the car is likely to be ‘wearing’ false or stolen number plates.

"The latests plates that you should look for are LM13SXE or LG14FRX.

"If you see this car with either of these number plates then please call us on 101.

"If you believe the occupants to be in the act of committing a crime then please call 999."
