Police hunting for those responsible for several arson attacks in Thornbury, including one at The Castle School last night, are stepping up their search for those responsible.

Firefighters battled three blazes in Thornbury last night, all of which are believed to have been arson attacks, two fires in the town over the weekend are also being investigated.

The first call out was for two shed fires at the allotments in the High Street, the second, later that evening was at The Castle School in Park Road.

A portakabin at The Castle School was believed to have been set on fire deliberately and four fire crews attended the blaze at 9pm last night.

Crews from Thornbury, Patchway, Avonmouth and Kingswood fire stations attended the fire and four firefighters in breathing apparatus extinguished the fire.

Police believe that someone must know who is responsible for the spate of recent attacks, and are currrently examining CCTV footage, social media and snapchat.

Earlier yesterday evening at just before 7.30pm emergency services were called to two suspected arson attacks at Thornbury allotments in the High Street.

All fires were successfully extinguished, and no one is believed to have been hurt.
