Two charities in Tetbury have received donations from a community festival.

Profit made from this year's Tetbury Fiesta has been handed over to charities that will benefit the town.

St Mary's Primary School and Tetbury Hospital will both benefit from the music event that runs annually in the town.

Malcolm Philby, one of the event organisers, presented Tetbury Hospital chairman Jeremy Lodwick and CEO Zena Dalton with a cheque for £300, which will be used to support the Friends of Tetbury Hospital’s fundraising efforts for new equipment and facilities.

He also presented a cheque for the same amount to Jo Woolley, head of St. Mary’s School.

Now operating under the new name of Tetfest, the popular event returns in 2019.

The event aims to provide family entertainment to the community and give bands and musicians from Tetbury and the surrounding area an opportunity to showcase their talents in front of a live audience.

A number of acts have already been confirmed for 2019, including Oasis tribute act Noasis, which will be headlining the event.

There will also be a children’s area with games, bouncy castle and face painting, stalls selling food and local produce and a fully licensed beer tent and bar.

Tetfest 2019 will take place on Saturday, July 13, from 2pm to 11.30pm and will be an all ticket event limited to 500, with tickets on sale from January 2019.

Along with a new name, Tetfest also has a new venue on Worwell Field, Cirencester Road.

The site is said to be spacious, easily accessible and has plenty of room for car parking.

As in previous years, all surplus profits will be donated to local charities.
