WITH CHRISTMAS nearly upon us, the owners of a shop in Wotton under Edge have been making sure their business is fully stocked with plenty of festive delights.
This is one of the busiest times of year for Wotton Farm Shop, which as well as selling seasonal food, Christmas trees, gifts and decorations, offers an extensive range of delicious fresh produce, home made deserts, farm shop ready meals, freshly baked bread and more.
Everything was going according to plan, until Paul and Kate Grimes found out about the highways department’s plans to close a road near them for resurfacing works this week.
“Unbelievably highways are closing the road leading from Wotton to the farm this week,” said Kate.
“And this is our busiest week of the year.”
But now (Thursday lunchtime), much to everyone at the shop's relief, the road has just been reopened and customers can head on down for their Christmas goodies.
