A former student of Chipping Sodbury School and a resident in the area is in need of your help for his degree at university.

Will Butters, 21, is currently studying Film at Falmouth University and is in to the last few assignments of his final year.

Now though he is looking for the help of the public to complete his course.

"The main reasons I chose the course was to be taught by experts from the industry and I think that the best aspect of it has been being surrounded by so many like-minded people to collaborate with," Will said.

Will has started a Crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for the production of his film later this year.

"My hope for the film is that it’s a culmination of everything that my crew and I have learnt over our degree and I want to be able to show it to people and for them to not be able to tell it’s a ‘student’ project," he continued.

"The money that we’ve raised so far is absolutely fantastic and I thank the people who have contributed so far.

"The money raised helps pay for professional actors, locations and props – creating the dystopian world you’ll see on screen so it is really important."

This is not Will's first experience behind the camera as he has actually been using his degree to make money throughout his course.

"Last summer I co-founded a film production company, Reverie Pictures," Will explained.

"I can’t say thank you enough to everyone for their support. Every donation is so appreciated and helps us make the best film possible. We really can’t do it without the contributions."

Will then went on to explain what to expect from the short film he is producing, giving a small synopsis.

"It is called The Alleviation and is a short post-apocalyptic thriller similar in style to Children of Men or the new Netflix film, Bird Box," he continued.

"To quote the synopsis: 'The world has changed. Food, water, resources and even life are now finite. A man journeys across the relentless wasteland in search of survival but, amongst the chaos, finds something far more meaningful.

Filming starts on the 20th of this month and the crew are getting ready to start, however there is still a short space of time to contribute via the Crowdfunding page.
