TWO horses escaped from their field and then trotted down the A46 yesterday afternoon, causing long traffic tailbacks.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: "We received reports of two horses on A46 at Horton between Cross Hands and Dunkirk at about 3.25pm.
"They are believed to have escaped from a nearby field.
"A member of the public caught them shortly before 4pm."
