LOCAL dancers are in with a chance of joining the Spice Girls on their UK tour, which includes a date in Bristol.

They could end up performing with Mel B, Mel C, Emma Bunton, and Geri Halliwell at the city's Ashton Gate stadium on Monday, June 10. Former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham will not be with them.

Invitation-only auditions are being held this month, but all dancers have been invited to submit an application for consideration.

A poster on top choreographer Paul Roberts's Facebook page says the tour is looking for both male and female dancers, and that "self-expressive, strong, unique, diverse, and intelligent performers" are welcome.

The initial women's audition will be on Monday, January 21, and the men's on Tuesday, January 22.

Dancers should submit a named headshot and CV to audition@paulroberts.co.

The Spice Girls were huge stars in the 1990s. Their debut single Wannabe topped the charts in 37 countries, and their debut album Spice sold more than 31 million copies, becoming the best-selling album of all time by a female group.
