A Thornbury charity is hosting a screening of a film showing the damaging effects of stress during childhood.

JIGSAW, an organisation supporting families with children with additional needs, are showing Resilience at the Vue Cinema at Cribbs Causeway.

The one hour documentary explores the impact of severe stress in childhood and the long term consequence on health, arguing that 'toxic stress' can trigger hormones that wreak havoc on the brains and bodies of children.

It also discusses how we can tackle this to make healthy adults for the future.

The screening is scheduled to take place at 7pm on Thursday, January 31.

However, JIGSAW needs to sell 100 tickets by January 20 to get the documentary screened.
