Readers may have spotted that there is an application to build two large houses over the grassy garden area in the centre of Holywell.
The application will mean filling in the historic Holy well, which the hamlet is named after.
The access is poor, from a single track winding lane, and could pose a danger to the umpteen children, dog walkers and hikers using the Cotswold Way crossing Holywell Lane.
This is a very historic area which many years ago was associated with the weaving trade, and evidence of this will be obliterated by new building.
Two large houses will destroy the focus of this very pretty and peaceful hamlet, and in no way could 2 executive 4/5 bedroomed homes be described as fulfilling any housing need, and of course the site is within the A.O.N.B.
I do hope that your readers will write to Stroud District Council, perhaps by using their website, using the word object and quoting the reference S.18/2663/FUL.
