A major crash on a commuter road has been causing traffic chaos this evening.
Two cars were involved in the incident, which happened in Westerleigh near Yate at around 5pm today (Wednesday, January 16).
The exact location is at the Nibley Road junction on Westerleigh Road.
Huge delays stretched right through Westerleigh from the Ring Road.
The accident has now been cleared.
An eye witness said: "It looked a really bad crash.
"I saw that the front bonnet of one of the cars was really badly damaged."
Avon and Somerset Police said in a statement: "We were called to a two car crash on the Westerleigh and Nibley Road junction.
"Nobody was trapped however one person is reported to have back and leg injuries.
"An ambulance has been called."
