RESIDENTS are being urged to have their say on proposals to build more than 900 new houses in Cam by attending a series of open events at Cam Parish Council.

The proposals form part of Stroud District Council’s local plan.

It proposes up to 930 houses being built on land at the north west of Cam, Draycott, Upthorpe/East of the River Cam and Tilsdown.

These plans will be on display at the open events at Cam Parish Council on Saturday, January 19, from 11am until 1pm, Monday, January 21, from 2pm until 4pm, Tuesday, January 22 and Thursday, January 24, from 5pm until 7pm and Friday, January 25, from 10am until 12pm.

Parish councillors and the Cam Neighbourhood Plan team will be on hand to talk to residents about the plans.

Feedback about the proposals needs to go to Stroud District Council by the end of January and the parish council hopes local people will turn out to have their say.

Chairman Brian Whatling said: “Please spread the word to your friends, family and neighbours as the only way for the council to represent your views is to tell us what you think.”

A public open day held back in December about the proposals was attended by approximately 120 residents. However, many people reported they were unable to attend the one-day event and therefore these further dates have been arranged.
