A MAN from Kingswood, near Wotton under Edge, has been charged for county lines linked drug offences.

Andreas Smith, 35, of Tyndale View was one of three people to appear at Cheltenham Magistates Court charged with drug offences after a 'proactive vehicle stop' in Gloucester on Tuesday, January 15.

The trio - Smith, with Ricardo Rickett, 29, from Essex, Charlotte Nairn, 23, of Quedgeley - appeared at the magistrates court on Wednesday, January 16, all charged with two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

Officers stopped the 'suspicious looking car' which passed them near the city centre and found a quantity of drugs and paraphernalia.

Police said the vehicle contained '£1,500 worth of crack and heroin,' and that they found '£7,000 worth of drugs from a linked address.'

A force spokesman said: "The case is being treated as linked to the county lines issue, which is a force priority."

The trio will return to court on Friday, February 15.
