ONE OF house music’s most enduring stars will be dropping in to Dursley next month to get the dancefloor heaving at the town’s Chantry Centre.

DJ legend Allister Whitehead is headlining Rave4Dave - a Stroud Labour Party fundraiser hosted by the Dursley DJ Collective - on Saturday, February 16.

Allister is one of the pre-eminent names in house music, having played all over the globe, at some of the world’s best clubs.

After taking up DJing at the age of 17, through hard graft and natural talent he gained residencies at clubs such as Golden, Cream and the Hacienda, alongside regular guest spots at top party nights.

Throughout the 90s Allister established himself as a household name – his ‘House Collection 3’ album on the Fantazia label was the biggest selling DJ compilation ever at the time.

A number of other gold-selling compilations for Fantazia and the Ministry of Sound followed, as well as remixes for stars such as Natalie Imbruglia and Robbie Williams.

Despite a hectic schedule, Allister will be playing his trademark irresistibly funky house tunes at the Rave4Dave between 9pm and 10pm.

Excellent sound, lights, special effect visuals and a full laser show will complement Allister and the usual great line-up of Dursley DJs.

And anyone getting there early will witness David Drew MP spin the first tune.

Tickets are priced at just £6 or £3 unwaged (plus booking fee) and are available from skiddle.com (search Rave4Dave).

It will be more on the door and tickets are already selling fast so early purchase is recommended to avoid disappointment.
