Details of the six car pile up that closed a quiet country lane this morning are beginning to emerge.
Although the initial crash on Bear Hill involved a car colliding with a parked van, four further cars subsequently hit the vehicles.
A police spokesperson said: "The initial collision was between a car and a parked van at 6.35am. The driver was uninjured.
"Subsequently, four other vehicles were in collision and damaged."
Initial reports suggest that the crash may have been caused by icy driving conditions.
Police officers attended and closed the road while recovery attended, and requested that a team from Amey attended for gritting.
The road was reopened this morning.
