STONEHOUSE fourths donned rainbow laces to raise awareness and support for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender players and fans.
Club spokesman Jack Guest said: "Saturday’s game was a triumph of hope for a better world and respect for everyone involved in sport, regardless of race, gender, sexuality or disability. It took massive spirit for Stonehouse fourths to don the rainbow laces against a difficult opposition in Ramblers FC.
"Although we lost 1-0 it didn’t feel like a loss as we played our part in keeping the beautiful game beautiful for generations to come.
" We would like to thank Fran Boait, Labour party parliamentary candidate for Gloucester who sponsored the laces."
