People have been left stumped by a previously unexplained birdsong that is played on repeat in Merrywalks Car Park.
The tranquil sounds were installed by Dransfield Properties Ltd, the company has recently taken over Merrywalks Shopping Centre and its car park.
Emily Hughes, PR executive for Dransfield Properties Ltd explained why the retail developer has installed the bird noises.
"The bird noises we have installed in our car park help to create a relaxing ambience for our visitors," she said.
"Birdsong is also used in our other developments, such as Fox Valley in North Sheffield, and they have proved to be popular with our customers. We hope the people of Stroud enjoy them, too!
"We pride ourselves on paying attention to detail across all of our developments and providing a unique customer experience."
In fact, for those who are tired or hit that mid-day slump, birdsongs are a great way to re-energise, according to Backyard Chirper.
