Tickets are now on sale for one of Thornbury's biggest events of the year.

Comedians, presenters and musicians will descend on the town later this year for its annual arts festival.

Tickets to see stars such as Kate Humble and Rev. Richard Coles went on sale today (Friday, February 1).

One of the longest running multi-arts festivals in the country, Thornbury Arts Festival is returning on Friday, April 26.

Running for just over a week, there will be workshops, exhibitions and a variety of performances and talks from special guests.

This year is the 50th anniversary of the festival and sees a number of headline names visit the town.

Comedian Miles Jupp will kick off proceedings on April 26 and there will be performances each day until singer Liza Pulman closes the festival on May 4.

The festival is entirely run by volunteers, with organisers also responsible for the Thornbury Eisteffod, a youth music and performing arts festival in March and May's Severn Vale Art Trail.

Tickets for all shows at the arts festival are now available online or via post.

A box office at Thornbury Town Hall will open on April 8.
