YOUNGSTERS experienced a cultural journey in the classroom to celebrate Chinese new year in style.
Children at the Kindergarten Pre-School in Wotton under Edge welcomed the year of the pig this week with a delicious Chinese meal.
Play leader Laura Barnett said: "The children at Kindergarten were very lucky to be treated to a Chinese meal to celebrate Chinese new year from The Hong Kong Kitchen in Wotton.
"It was very delicious and we were all able to taste a wide variety of foods.
"We would like to thank The Hong Kong Kitchen for their generosity and highly recommend their cooking.
"What a great way for kindergarten to start their celebrations."
Chinese new year falls on Tuesday, February 5 this year, and the day also saw the youngsters enjoy making their own Chinese dragon, colouring in paper lanterns and painting symbols from the Chinese alphabet.
