A maintenance company that are involved with an unopened park in Chipping Sodbury have hinted that an end could be in sight for residents.

A play park in the Barn Hill development, Weaver Way, has been fenced off ever since construction of the road was finished.

There are over 150 houses in the new development, with some residents contacting councillors after the play park remained closed.

Recently, Chamonix Estates revealed that they are looking to get the site open, however they had not received handover of the area yet.

"The play area will be opened once we have taken handover of the estate from Bloor and we hold a satisfactory RoSPA inspection on file," the statement from the company said.

“In addition to this, public liability insurance will be placed to cover the play area commencing from the date of handover.

“I appreciate that residents may be frustrated that the play area is not yet open but the developer is within their rights to do this until such times that the necessary insurances and inspections have taken place."

Chamonix estates also confirmed that residents are not yet paying for maintenance in the road.

Now though, the company have revealed that things could be moving along with the park.

A meeting with residents has been scheduled for Thursday, February 21.

Chamonix said: "We will be discussing the handover from the developer (at this meeting) and once confirmed/handover is in place, the park will be opened."
