A changing room facility, used by a number of sports teams, has been extended.
Extension work on the facilities at Sunnyside started over three months ago and was officially opened for public use at the end of January.
The news was announced by Yate Town Council as they also revealed that an official opening of the building would take place towards the end of February.
The redevelopment works have included adding an additional three changing rooms as well as disabled changing rooms and toilets.
The toilets throughout the changing rooms have been upgraded and refurbished.
In a statement, the council said: "Our vision was to improve opportunities for engagement in sport and physical activity in the Yate area by providing greater capacity and improved facilities.
"Sunnyside Playing Fields are available for more people to use.
"We would like to particularly thank the neighbours for their co-operation and patience throughout the this project and hope that the community enjoy the improved facilities."
