A CHARITY quiz night raised money and awareness of a charity very close to a Yate family's hearts.

Aimed at raising money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, the event took place at the Codrington Arms on North Road in Yate.

The night was supported by a number of people, including the Brennan's who battle the condition everyday.

Annabelle Brennan, 4, has cystic fibrosis and her family have been heavily involved in the nationwide campaign for Orkambi, a drug that will help treat the condition.

The night took place on Wednesday, January 30 at the pub and raised £135 through the quiz and also through a raffle.

Liz revealed her delight that the event was well supported.

"It was a really good night and very well supported," she said.

"My family would like to thank Jenna at the Codrington Arms, Tom Howell and everyone who supported the evening.

"It's greatly appreciated and we know the money will be used to help people like my daughter live with the condition."

Jenna Hale added: "We had great pleasure in holding our latest monthly quiz in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, and we were extremely please to have raised £130 on the evening.

"Our popular quiz is held on the last Wednesday of every month, the next being the 27th of March and in aid of Macmillan Cancer Care . It’s a really fun evening that’s open to everyone."
