NOMINATIONS for Dursley’s esteemed community honours - the Leslie D Gale Awards - are now open.
It’s a chance to give unsung heroes the recognition they deserve.
The Leslie D Gale Award was instituted in 1994, as a tribute to the late Mr Gale, who was the last chairman of Dursley Parish Council and the first Mayor of Dursley, and who served the community in many ways.
The Leslie D Gale Award not only recognises longevity of service to the community but also impact.
Nominations do not have to be for individuals; in past years groups have also been successfully nominated.
To put someone forward for an award, write to Dursley Town Clerk with details of why the person, group or team deserves the recognition.
To be considered for the 2019 awards, recommendations must be received on or before Friday, April 5.
This year's nominees will be announced at the town’s annual assembly on May 21.
