The right wing media barons currently talk of civil unrest in the streets if there is a ‘no deal’ or indeed a ‘no brexit’ outcome.
This reminds me of a quote from the 1908 novel ‘The Man Who Was Thursday’ by GK Chesterton where he said: "...idiotic idea that if anarchy came it would come from the poor. Why should it?....they have more interest than anyone else in there being some decent government. The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn’t….aristocrats were always anarchists.’’
This quote does seem to me to place the whole Brexit debate into context for we know the likes of Rees-Mogg, Johnson et al will be able to buy their way out of the mess they helped to create.
